The general public has never had a positive view of long-term care. While the appreciation for assisted living has grown over the past decade, the COVID-19 Pandemic has intensified the negative public perceptions of senior care. Often failing to understand the difference between assisted living facilities and nursing homes, consumer confidence in both levels of care has declined. Rebuilding consumer confidence in assisted living requires more than a focus on amenities. Building trust requires reaching out with education, effective media coverage, and maintaining a consistent, coordinated team approach to customer care and service.
